Dolphins’ Grant DuBose Suffers Head Injury, Leaves Game on Stretcher After Devastating Hit vs. Texans

Scary Injury Halts Dolphins-Texans Game as Grant DuBose Exits on Stretcher

A chilling moment unfolded during the Miami Dolphins vs. Houston Texans game on Sunday when Dolphins wide receiver Grant DuBose suffered a severe injury, leading to his removal on a stretcher. The incident saw medical staff cutting off his jersey and pads while also removing his helmet and face mask after a brutal hit on the field.

The play occurred during a slant route where quarterback Tua Tagovailoa delivered a quick pass to DuBose, who caught the ball for a first down. However, Texans safety Calen Bullock aggressively crashed into DuBose to break up the play, inadvertently causing a serious injury. Bullock immediately realized the gravity of the situation as DuBose remained motionless on the turf.

The game paused for 12 minutes while medical personnel tended to DuBose. His jersey and equipment were removed to ensure his safety during transport, and he was stretchered off the field. The entire Dolphins team and staff formed a prayer circle on one knee, displaying solidarity and concern for their injured teammate.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel and Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans shared a compassionate embrace as the situation unfolded, showcasing sportsmanship in a challenging moment. DuBose was officially diagnosed with a head injury.

For the season, DuBose has had limited action, with just one prior catch for 13 yards in a game against the Buffalo Bills earlier this year.

Dolphins Fall Short in a Crucial Game

Despite rallying behind their teammate, the Dolphins lost the game to the Texans with a final score of 20-12. This loss came at a pivotal moment, as the Dolphins’ playoff hopes depend on securing wins in their remaining games.

Currently sitting at 6-8, the Dolphins face a steep challenge ahead, with three games remaining in their season. On the other hand, the Texans are edging closer to clinching the AFC South title. Their fate could be sealed if the Indianapolis Colts fail to secure a win against the Denver Broncos later in the day.
